Water may look brown or cloudy after a repair nearby. It is safe to drink, and it will clear.
A repair on the Cawden Moor main changed the direction water flows through the network. That lifts harmless iron deposits off the inside of old pipes, which is why water in Netherfold Bridge and Cawden Moor may look brown, orange or cloudy.
The water is safe to drink and safe to wash in. Run your cold kitchen tap slowly for up to 20 minutes and it should clear. Do not use the washing machine until it does, in case of staining.
If your water has not cleared by midday on 22 August, call us on 0808 157 0123 and we will flush the main in your street. If washing has been stained, tell us and we will pay for it to be re-washed.
