24 August to 11 September · 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday
We are replacing 1.2 kilometres of Victorian main on Thornbeck Hill. Your water should stay on throughout.
The cast-iron main under Thornbeck Hill was laid in 1897 and has burst four times in three years. We are replacing it with 1.2 kilometres of new plastic pipe, which should stop the bursts and improve pressure at the top of the hill.
Work runs from 24 August to 11 September, 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. There will be two-way traffic lights between the Brantwick junction and Thornbeck Green, and no parking on the south side. We will keep the pavement open.
Your water should stay on. If we do need to turn it off, we will post a card through your door at least 48 hours beforehand. Customers on our Priority Services Register will get a phone call as well.
